Textiles and electricals recycling restarted

Collections of clothes, home textiles, small electricals and batteries will restart from Monday 1 June. To use the weekly collection service, place your items into a tied standard size plastic carrier bag and leave it next to your rubbish or recycling bin on your collection day. Residents can recycle one bag of textiles and one bag of electricals per week.

To find out what items can be recycled, visit the electricals and battery recycling page and the clothes and home textiles recycling page.

Recycling banks that are operated by a range of charities are unlikely to be emptied regularly, so we would suggest that you use our search tool to check if the item you’d normally take to a recycling bank can be recycled through your collection service. If not please hold onto it until recycling bank services are back to normal.

We’re doing everything we can to keep waste collections running as normal during the coronavirus pandemic. Remember to check the service updates page for the latest information in your area. There are also easy ways you can help your crew to keep things moving, find out more here.
