Amey have reported that due to vehicle issues and catching up on previous work, several waste collections did not complete today across the district.

  • Rubbish collections – due on Wednesday 24 June in parts of Betchworth, Box Hill, Brockham, Buckland, Leigh and Strood Green. From Thursday 25 June, in some areas of Beare Green, Box Hill, Brockham, Capel, Coldharbour, Forest Green, Holmbury St Mary, Ockley, South Holmwood and Westcott. From Friday 26 June in areas of Dorking and Westcott.
  • Recycling collections – due on Monday 29 June in some areas of Ashtead, Bookham, Fetcham, Leatherhead and Westhumble.
  • Food waste collections – due today in parts of Ashtead, Bookham, Fetcham, and Leatherhead.
  • Garden waste collections – due Monday 29 June in areas of Great Bookham and Little Bookham; due today in parts of Ashtead.

Please be assured that our crews are working hard to catch up. If your bin hasn’t been collected, please leave it out and crews will return as soon as they can.

Some bin collection crews will be starting earlier than usual to help catch up on collections. Please ensure your bins are out by 5.30am on your collection day.

Delays and vehicles

Some collections are currently running behind schedule, and some bins may be collected one or two days later than planned. In some cases, delays may be considerably longer, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Amey have reported a higher number of vehicle breakdowns than usual. This was made more challenging by the hot weather last week, which put additional strain on our collection vehicles.

If your bin has not been collected by 4pm and is not in an area affected by a known disruption, you can report it on our missed collections page.

Thank you for your patience while we work to get collections back on track.
