The national shortage of HGV drivers is continuing to impact our waste and recycling services. We are working closely with our waste collection contractor, Amey, to ensure disruption to collections is minimised as far as possible. However, garden waste collections will not be possible in Woking this week.
If you live in Woking borough and your garden waste is due to be collected this week please do not put your bin out. You also don’t need to report it as a missed collection.
The national shortage has been caused by competition for driving roles from other sectors, issues related to the COVID pandemic and a reduction in staff available post-Brexit.
