Request and pay for a one-off collection of large bulky items such as washing machines or furniture.
Can it be reused?

Bulky waste collection service
If your items can’t be reused, for a charge, we can collect them for disposal. Find out more about disposing of bulky waste.
The price will be displayed once you have selected the items to be collected.
If you receive Council Tax support or Housing Benefit you may be entitled to a concessionary rate. You will need to provide your benefit reference number.

Temporary suspension of fridge/freezer collections
Please be aware there is a temporary restriction in place for residents who wish to book collection of fridge/freezers using their local council’s bulky waste collection service. If you have an existing booking, all orders made before Thursday 17 September 2026 will be honoured.
Temporary alternatives
If you need to dispose of a fridge/freezer, there are currently these options:
- You can take your appliance to your local Community Recycling Centre (CRC);
- Or, if you are buying a replacement, it may be worth checking if the retailer offers a service to remove the item for you, usually at an additional cost.
- If you decide to arrange a private collection, please ensure the company holds a valid Waste Carrier Licence. Residents can check this using the Environment Agency’s public register: https://environment.data.gov.uk/public-register/view/search-waste-carriers-brokers
If you cannot do any of the above, please store your fridge or freezer safely at home until services resume.
